NCT First Time Pass Package

Since the introduction of the NCT in 2000, the Road Safety Authority has continued to make  significant changes to the complexity of the test, which has led to quite stable failure rates in a number of motor categories. At the start of 2020 exactly 50% of cars fail the test when present in the approved test centre (Fail and fail dangerous). (Source NCTS.ie – January 2020)

To increase your chance of passing the test, all you have to do is to select our NCT FIRST TIME PASS PACKAGE .. and it applies for “any car” and “any time” you have to do the NCT.

Our NCT First Time Pass Package includes a Basic service and a Headlight alignment plus a series of checks for common NCT failures, and it will cost from €140 for the full package depending on the cc of the car.

If at the end of the NCT First Time Pass service we tell you you’ll pass, and if you don’t, we will pay your €28 NCT retest fee.*

What are the impacts on you if your car fails the NCT?

• More time and money required to re-book the NCT at the test centre (Subject to availability)
• Trouble getting the problems identified by the NCT properly fixed
• Possible €1500 fine and 5 penalty points for not displaying a valid NCT certificate as you should not drive without a valid NCT certificate

What happens if we find items that may cause probable failure at your NCT?

If one of our qualified technical staff should identify some item(s) that require adjustment, repair or replacement in order to pass the NCT, we will issue you with a competitive quote for any work required and advise you of the time it will take to complete.

* The cost of the First Time Pass is determined by the engine cc of the car. For vehicles up to 1499cc it is €140, from 1500cc to 2499cc it is €138.00 and for vehicles over 2500cc or that required special oils (other than 5W30 or 10W40) the cost will be €170.00
